HospiceCare North Northumberland

Caring for Life!

Lynne Allan

Lynne started work with the Hospice as a volunteer in 2000, initially helping in day care and driving patients.

In 2004 she became a Granny so baby-sitting duties meant a switch to more flexible fundraising adventures!!! Having previously zip-wired and abseiled on numerous occasions, now she helped at all these events as well as coffee mornings, craft fairs and her favourites - the open gardens days. She then started as a trader for Phoenix cards which gave the opportunity to raise extra funds at these events, and along with the monies raised from the stocks always available at Berwick and Alnwick Hospices, we raised £410 last year. Phoenix themselves have donated boxes and boxes of damaged or discontinued lines to the Hospice for use as tombola prizes!!!

Lynne says, "I’ve had great fun over the years and have met some wonderful and inspirational people along the way. Although as volunteers we are only small cogs in a big wheel, knowing that the Hospice wheel turns steadily giving help and support to so many people gives a great sense of satisfaction."

Thank you very much Lynne for all your support.

To anyone out there with even a little time to give, I would highly recommend giving us a ring and joining us. Hope to see you soon at our next fundraising event.
