HospiceCare North Northumberland

Caring for Life!

About the Artist...

Born in Leeds in 1954, John Fieldhouse began to concentrate on painting some 20 years ago, exhibiting in galleries in and around Newcastle.

Over the past decade John has built up a strong following in the North for his evocative, loosely brushed watercolours which seem to capture     effortlessly the quality of light and grandness of scale of Northumberland. Sketching and using water-based media John is inspired by shadow play and sudden dramatic changes in the quality of light on land and water.

In his recent body of work, exploring the Tweed River system has provided John with further dimension and exciting possibilities, and this new         exhibition is felt by many who have had a sneak preview to be amongst his best work. Changes of light, shade, movement, and mood still dominate and give his ever-growing base of enthusiastic followers a visual treat…

This Pop Up exhibition has been created to raise funds for HospiceCare, so please join us in September.

12th Annual Druridge Bay Charity 10K raises over £8K for local Hospice.

Veronica Powell a new attendee of the Monday drop in at Berwick.

Billy Atkinson was 84 years old when he died on 22nd May 2017 and he was my Dad!

Many moons ago, I trained as a nurse at the RVI and have on a voluntary basis nursed in a residential hospice in the south of England. I have been involved with end-of-life care many times, but nothing fully prepares you for the imminent death of someone you love.

Performing 'Twelfth Night'

Venue: Pallinsburn House TD12 4SG

Date: Friday 17th August

Price: Tickets £14/£12

The world's first cycling theatre company, The HandleBards, pedal from venue to venue with all the set, props and costume necessary to perform environmentally sustainable Shakespeare across the globe.

Join their all-male troupe at our three venues listed below, for a bicycle-powered production of Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night' like none other. In usual HandleBards style, expect riotous amounts of energy, a fair old whack of chaos, and a great deal of laughter.

And what's the play about? Well - Duke Orsino is in love with Lady Olivia, but she won't have anything to do with suitors. Viola is shipwrecked and believes her twin brother Sebastian to be dead. Meanwhile, a bunch of Olivia's servants plot to make a fool out of her pompous Butler, Malvolio. There's drunkenness, frivolity and cross-dressing a plenty.

Visit www.handlebards.com to find out more!

Doors open 6:00pm, performance starts 6:30pm.

Bring a picnic, low back chairs and blankets.
