Grants from Trusts and Foundations are an important source of income, currently accounting for about 24% of our total income.
Some grants are restricted, only to be used for specific purposes or projects, but most are unrestricted and can be used to support our core running costs. This is important, because almost 80% of our total costs are for payroll, reflecting the fact that our key assets are people.
Many of the Trusts listed in our Thank You Wall below have given us grants regularly over several years, and we are extremely grateful that they appreciate and support the work we are doing.
During 2017/18 the following organisations have supported HospiceCare:
Jill Clark has volunteered for HospiceCare since 2010.
Jill is a local Rotarian who gives up a few hours each week to make applications on behalf of HospiceCare to Trusts and Foundations.

On average only one out of every four grant applications is successful, which means we have to send out many application letters, plus thank you letters and feedback reports. This activity is currently handled by a small team of part-time volunteers, and we are always interested in talking to potential new volunteers.
