Caring for Life!

John Fieldhouse Pop Up Exhibition

About the Artist...

Born in Leeds in 1954, John Fieldhouse began to concentrate on painting some 20 years ago, exhibiting in galleries in and around Newcastle.

Over the past decade John has built up a strong following in the North for his evocative, loosely brushed watercolours which seem to capture     effortlessly the quality of light and grandness of scale of Northumberland. Sketching and using water-based media John is inspired by shadow play and sudden dramatic changes in the quality of light on land and water.

In his recent body of work, exploring the Tweed River system has provided John with further dimension and exciting possibilities, and this new         exhibition is felt by many who have had a sneak preview to be amongst his best work. Changes of light, shade, movement, and mood still dominate and give his ever-growing base of enthusiastic followers a visual treat…
