Local dealership, Blackshaws of Alnwick, presented a third courtesy car to HospiceCare to support their invaluable work throughout North Northumberland. On presenting the car last month, Will Blackshaw (pictured) said
“We are delighted to offer our support to HospiceCare once again by providing a car for the clinical team to use as they carry out their vital work in north Northumberland. We hope it will continue to prove to be really useful to the Hospice for home visits which are so important to people in a time of need. As a well-established company in this area we are always happy to help where we can as we feel it is very important to give something back to our local community.”
Sue Gilbertson,(pictured)Hospice Nurse Manager, said “we are overwhelmed with the continuing support of Blackshaws. the car has wbecome an invaluable resource for our clinical team to use when travelling throughout our rural communities.”
Sue also added “The Blackshaw family are no strangers to supporting the Hospice, over the last few years they have held a number of fundraising events within their Showroom, taken part in Zip Wire and Golf Challenge events , as well as joining our Great North Run Team. It is only with support such as theirs that we are able to continue to meet the growing demand for our Hospice at Home Services, which has seen a 238% increase in just the last 24 months.”
Jonny, Stuart, Vicky and Mark Diggens and Connor Stroughton from local family run business Mastora, Alnwick all took part in the GNR 2015. Vicky Diggens commented – “When we heard that HospiceCare had some spaces for the GNR – we decided to take it on as a personal challenge amongst ourselves, whilst raising funds for a great local charity.”
